Loose Parts Play

We are always on the hunt for 'treasure' to add to our learning provision for the younger children to spark imagination and support their play. We like to use authentic and recycled materials wherever possible (rather than plastic items) to support our drive to be more eco friendly as a school (and to save on cost). Here is a list (not exhaustive) of the kinds of things we are on the look our for, in case you would like to donate any items or are thinking of having a clear out! All donations gratefully received and creatively used!

Cable reels

Wood off cuts (splinter free)

Tin cans (without sharp edges)

Picture frames

Buttons

Costume jewellery

Cardboard tubes

Wooden dolly pegs

Logs or log slices

Stainless steel bowls

Pots and pans

Spoons

Metal tea pots/ tea sets

Carpet or artificial grass offcuts

Plant pots

Baskets

We are also trying to add much more greenery to our classrooms and communal areas so if there are any plant enthusiasts who have would like to donate any off-cuts of house plants, we would be very appreciative of these too.
